GermanyEurope - Germany
Anyone who wants to practise falconry in Germany requires a licence, a so called Falknerjagdschein. To qualify for a licence you need to pass a hunting and falconers test. For those who are not interested in hunting with a gun but a hawk only, the practical bit on shooting can be skipped. The test includes knowledge of raptors and protection of them, law, keeping raptors and the practical aspects of falconry. Hunting ground and acceptable facilities are additional requirements.
Only two species! of birds of prey can be used, which in any case must have a closed ring and has to be an aviary bred
